Pressure Independence in Chilled Water hydronics
The chilled water hydronics market is a great application for DelatPValves® for a number of reasons:
- The relative cost to produce chilled water is very expensive compared to hot water and steam.
- The generation capacity of the system is highly vulnerable to the gpm/ton consumption.
- The system generally requires FCI's larger sizes of valves.
- FCI's pressure independent competition has less breadth.
- Commercial quality valve prices become more expensive and performance declines in the larger sizes
Hot Water hydronics
There are benefits to a pressure independent approach for hot water valves. Hot water valves generally fit DeltaPValve's® lower range of sizes. DeltaPValve's® temperature limitation has been cycle tested at 250 degrees Fahrenheit. A rule of thumb is that the hot water valve opportunity is five times that of the chilled water.
