Here is how...

The performance of any HVAC system is dependent on the performance of its coils. Typically a system operates at 80% of thermal load design, which converts to 50% design flow. Optimization of coil performance can only be achieved by stabilizing the fluctuations in water pressure across the coils regardless of demand level. Pressure independent DeltaPValves® eliminate these instabilities at any demand level allowing you to match the water side to the air side load. Thereby you can heat and cool more space with less equipment and less energy.

The pressure independent DeltaPValve® combines an internal differential pressure regulator with a control valve. This produces a rate of flow that doesn't vary with pressure fluctuations. This creates a unique opportunity to mechanically optimize the control system at a lower cost than can be achieved by any other means. Only by simultaneously achieving steady design flow, high delta T and low leaving air temperature, at all building loads, can energy consumption be dramatically reduced.

Each valve is flow tested and marked with a tag indicating flow at percent open, and the control is so accurate, that the 4-20mA scale can be interpolated into a flow rate at the PLC. Furthermore, the DeltaPValve® includes a group of differential pressure ports so that the furthest valve on the system can be utilized to control the overall system differential
