8-inch DeltaPValve:
Reliable Pressure Independent Control for HVAC
|
Why conventional control valve "quick fixes" don't work:
Manual balancing valves and piping strategies such as reverse return systems will alleviate some of the extreme imbalance to the coils. The use of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) will also help to improve the hydronic balance. The use of these strategies and/or equipment will not solve the fundamental problem of one control valve affecting other loops to allow the highest level of efficiency and energy savings.
Automatic balancing valves that are pressure independent with only one possible set point have been available for over 25 years. These valves are used in series with either a control valve or an on/off valve. These fixed rate valves may be a slight improvement over the manual balancing valves in that they limit extreme out of balance conditions to each circuit to the max rate they are specified to but they do not allow the coil to provide the lowest possible water rate, hence the higher delta T that the variable set point pressure independent control valve produces.
